Pay Rate: £88.92 – £101.92 per day (depending on experience)

Vision for Education is recruiting a dedicated and compassionate ALN Teaching Assistant to work in a welcoming and inclusive 3–19 special needs school in Newport. This is an excellent opportunity for an ALN TA who is passionate about supporting children and young people with additional learning needs (ALN).

About the Role

As an ALN Teaching Assistant in Newport, South Wales, you will work closely with teachers and support staff to support pupils with a range of additional learning needs, including autism (ASD), ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and complex learning needs. This ALN TA role is essential in helping pupils achieve their full potential in a safe, supportive, and nurturing learning environment.

Key Responsibilities

Provide one-to-one and small-group support to pupils with additional learning needs (ALN)
Support the class teacher with planning, preparation, and classroom management
Promote independence, confidence, and emotional wellbeing
Implement individual education plans (IEPs) and follow safeguarding procedures
Support pupils with personal care needs where required

Requirements

Experience working with children or young people with additional learning needs in schools or care settings (preferred)
A positive, patient, and resilient attitude
Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team in an education setting
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
Relevant qualifications such as CACHE Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant or equivalent are desirable
